Year 5 went to The Workplace in Newton Aycliffe where they learned about the skills needed for real life jobs. They tried food from a chef learned how to be a paramedic and were shown how to construct buildings. A fun day was had by all.

Paul Donaghy (County Sports Advisor) took year 5 for a three week course on sport leadership. The class learned how to plan and lead a PE lesson, teaching some of the year 3 class. We may have some budding young teachers!

A big thankyou to all the children and staff who came to support me in the Pantomime at Spennymoor.

All the children who were lucky enough to receive a ticket for Mr. Butler's Pantomime had a really good time. The front of house helpers commented on their behaviour and politeness. So well done everyone.

I wonder what the pantomime will be next year?

NEW SCHOOL BUILDING.

Durham County Council's Cabinet met today to reconsider their original decision to rebuild Esh Winning Primary School on land in the centre of the village.

The decision has been made to rebuild the school on the current Junior building site. It will still incorporate the library and community facilities.

I know that many of you will be delighted at this news, and we look forward to having a wonderful new school in the beautiful and unique setting the existing site offers.
