Every Child Matters
Through the programs of study and the ethos of the
school we strive to promote the principles of Every Child Matters. The five
areas being:-

- Enjoying and Achieving
- Making Positive Contributions
Wrap Around Care
This is currently available for all children who
attend the Nursery. Within the available times the Wrap Around sessions can be
tailored to meet the individual child's needs. This care can include breakfast,
lunch and a light tea.

Breakfast Club 8.00am - 8.50am
The kitchen produces a healthy choice of foods to
help the children start their school day. Parents are welcome to eat with their
children or leave them to be supervised by staff. Once children have eaten their
breakfast they can attend supervised quiet playtime within our KS1 hall.
Residential visits to Earl's Orchard, Richmond
As part of an enriched curriculum our Year 6
children attend an outward bound activity centre for one week.
Health and Safety Week
Once a year for a period of one week the children
are taken off timetable and the school holds a Health and Safety Week. This
comprises of professional bodies coming into school and working with the
children as well as the children visiting establishments all linked with the
theme of Health and Safety.
KS2 Peer Support Group
Year 6 pupils counsell younger pupils during
breaktimes.
Playtime Buddy Systems, KS1 and KS2 All
children receive buddy training and each week children are chosen to take the
role of a buddy during playtimes. The buddies are available to solve disputes
between pupils, to encourage friendships and to emotionally support pupils.
School Council The
school council is made up of pupils from Year 1 to Year 6 who have been chosen
by their peers to form a decision making body. They liase with teachers and
discuss important matters from the point of view of the pupils. Evidence
