In Year 6 we aim to have fun while we learn!
Our growth mind set attitude means mistakes are fabulous and our resilience and perseverance allows us to make improvements and solve all our learning problems.

Other Useful Information
Year 6 had a terrific time on the 11th June for our trip to Durham for the Leaver’s Service at the Cathedral. Thank you to Bell’s Fish Restaurant in the market place for an amazing meal and service.
Today, we were visited by Anna from Northumbria University. We used our knowledge of English, grammar and punctuation to help Mr Literacy escape from the room.
Year 6 have enjoyed transition days at The Durham Federation.
Year 6 had a wonderful world book day.
We took our PSHE lesson outside today as the weather was fabulous. We really enjoyed the team building activities.
Today, Nicola, from Show Racism the Red Card, visited our class. We spent the afternoon talking about racism, how to identify types of racism and what we can do if we think racism is happening to someone we know.
We had a fabulous day at Northumbria University. We were detectives and had to figure out who had stolen the university cup by using our maths knowledge and plenty of teamwork.

We attended a Safety Carousel where we took part in lots of different activities to raise awareness of dangerous situations. We even came away with a certificate for winning the quiz!!!
We enjoyed our visit from a music teacher from a local secondary school. Ukuleles at the ready!
We had a fabulous afternoon visiting a local secondary school to compete in an athletics tournament.
Year 6 learned the importance of wearing seatbelts; the dangers of crossing between parked cars and the importance of wearing a safety helmet when cycling.
How are nutrients and water transported around our body?
Year 6 know the answer!
Meanwhile, the other half had a fabulous time, which included a forest school day, an afternoon at a climbing wall and the production of some fantastic artwork.
Half of Year 6 started the year with a residential week to Edinburgh. They visited many attractions including the zoo, castle and the dungeons. A great time was had by all.
